Instructed up to twenty-three 2nd grade students with wide range of learning capacities including but not limited to English Learners. Created and implemented lesson plans with the use of technology such as Smartboards and Google Slides. Instructed class on days where a substitute was present for the day. Incorporated new Benchmark curriculum into lesson plans. Participated in Parent conference meetings and staff development days and grade level faculty meetings.

Instructed 5th grade students with an array of learning capacities including but not limited to EL’s and Autism. Instructed a classroom with class size of thirty-one students. Created and implemented fifth grade lesson plans that followed state standards. Designed a multi day learning segment with varied assessments. Motivated student learning by incorporating differentiated learning entries by using writing, illustrating, cooking, graphic organizers, and acting.

During my enrollment in the credential program I was able to experience working in both public school and charter school settings. I was able to prepare myself to teach students with diverse backgrounds, multiple needs, strengths, and resources. With the support of outstanding and very knowledgeable professors, I was able to practice collaborating work habits to improve, schedule, and execute meaningful and strong lesson plans.

Completing child development courses at Pierce College, I believed to have been a very rewarding choice for me as I was able to preview many of the materials related to the education of children.
